What days are you open?
The 2021 Winter Lightfest is open Friday – Sunday November 26-28, December 3-5, 10-13 and 17-19. The Week of Christmas December 20-23 & 26
(Closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day)
The park is open from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. with the last admission granted at 9:00 p.m.
What does Winter Lightfest support?
Your support of Winter Lightfest directly benefits United Way of Abilene’s community investment in local non-profit programs and partnerships.
Do I need a ticket?
Yes. Winter Lightfest is a ticketed event. Tickets may be purchased in advance online or at the gate each night (cash or credit only). Tickets purchased online are valid for one-time use and may be used any night that Winter Lightfest is open.
Ticket prices are as follows:
In advance, you may buy your tickets online and simply print or show us your ticket/QR code at the gate. Online tickets are $7 for children and $12 for adults.
At the park, you may walk up and purchase tickets at the gate. Tickets are $6 for children and $11 for adults. We accept cash and card only.
Chauffeured Golf Cart Rides are available for anyone needed a little assistance navigating the park. Tickets must be purchased in advance and for a specific night to ensure availability. Each ride takes roughly 30-minutes and each cart can accommodate up to 5 guests. Price per person is $20.

Winter Lightfest is located on 2250 EN 10th street Abilene, Texas.
Will Santa visit Winter Lightfest?
Santa will be in the park every night we are open leading up to Christmas – Friday, November 26 – Thursday, December 23.
You will be able to visit with Santa in Christmas Village. You must purchase admission to the park and photos with Santa are $5 for the entire family.
Is this a walking event?
Yes! The Winter Lightfest trail is a 3/4-mile on a packed caliche trail. We strongly recommend you wear sturdy closed-toe shoes while walking through the park.
Are there flashing lights?
There are many visual and lighting special effects at Winter Lightfest. If you are photosensitive and can have seizures caused by light, we recommend asking the advice of your doctor.
What payment methods are accepted?
Tickets may be purchased in advance online with a credit or debit card. At the gate, cash and card are accepted. Card transactions may have an additional purchase fee.
Are there ticket discounts?
Groups of 20+ may purchase tickets in advance online for 20% off. Please call the United Way office at 325-677-1841 for more information.
What is available in Christmas Village?
Christmas Village, sponsored by Chic-fil-a is near the beginning of the trail. You’ll be able to watch live performance groups, purchase gourmet hot chocolate, enjoy Chic-fil-a (not available on Sundays), and purchase Winter Lightfest gear while enjoying the 50-foot lighted tree. Picnic tables and restrooms are also available.
Should we bring anything to make our experience better?
To enjoy Winter Lightfest, proper attire and footwear is always a good idea. Be sure to dress appropriately if we’re enjoying cooler temperatures. Don’t forget to bring your camera! You don’t want to miss that perfect holiday photo.
Will the trail close during inclement weather?
We want to be sure that all of our guests are safe. If weather conditions turn Grinchy and we are forced to close for the night, we’ll make announcements via our social media channels, website, and news outlets to make sure everyone knows.
Is the trail wagon/stroller/wheelchair friendly?
Wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs are welcome at Winter Lightfest, but note that the Winter Lightfest trail is not a smooth surface. Our grounds are caliche, which means that wheels may not roll as smoothly as you would like. Winter Lightfest offers handicap accessible parking to accommodate guests who need them.
Individuals who need assistance, and their families, visiting the 3/4-mile light trail may receive assistance may purchase a special ride on one of our golf carts (seats up to 5) on Sunday’s from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited to 30 individuals per night. For everyone’s safety, we will provide one of our own trained staff who is familiar with the trail to drive individuals on golf carts.
Cost per person is $20.
Are bicycles or scooters allowed at Winter Lightfest?
Due to safety concerns, bicycles and personal scooters are not allowed.
Is the trail pet friendly?
We love your furry friends, but pets are not allowed on the trail. Anyone caught with their pet will be asked to leave, no refunds will be given.
Service animals are permitted.
Is food, beverage or alcohol permitted at Winter Lightfest?
No outside food or beverage is permitted at Winter Lightfest. Food and beverage will be available for sale inside the gates. No alcohol is permitted on the property.
Is smoking or vaping allowed?
No smoking, vaping, or tobacco products are allowed on the property.
Is parking free?
Yes, parking is free at Winter Lightfest.
