Beat the Heat Fan Drive

Helping Our Neighbors Beat the Summer Heat

For more than 20 years,  TXU Energy has teamed up with United Way of Abilene to provide relief for the most vulnerable.  Summer in Texas often causes additional financial stress for many of our neighbors.

The fan donation is part of TXU Energy’s signature Beat the Heat program, which partners with community service organizations across the state to help Texans stay cool in the summer and to promote heat safety awareness and energy conservation. Since it began more than 20 years ago, the program has reached thousands of Texans, encouraging them to keep cool and stay safe.

United Way of Abilene collects fans and then distributes them to partner agencies who work with the most vulnerable populations. From there, the fans will be distributed to families through United Way’s Basic Needs Network, a collaboration of non-profit organizations serving West Central Texans.

Anyone needing a fan is encouraged to contact 211.

TXU Energy Customer Relief

TXU Energy continues to provide bill-payment assistance to customers in need through its TXU Energy AidSM program. For over 35 years, these funds, donated by employees, customers, and the company, have been distributed by TXU Energy Aid partner agencies. For information on which social service agencies are providing assistance, Texans should call 211 or visit 211Texas.org and type “electricity bill assistance” in the search box.
