PROGRAM FUNDING

United Way of Abilene strengthens our community by focusing on innovative solutions to community needs.

WE FOCUS ON STRATEGIC PLANNING

At United Way of Abilene, we are dedicated to fostering a stronger community through innovative solutions in education, health, and financial stability. These areas are fundamental to building resilient families and a thriving community.

We actively seek partnerships with non-profits that offer sustainable programs addressing local needs. Recognizing that meaningful change requires substantial, long-term investment, we are committed to supporting impactful organizations that make a real difference.
Our work is guided by volunteer-driven committees to ensure that each program is managed effectively, provides essential services, and addresses critical needs. For more information on funding opportunities, please reach out to Marcus Wiley at 325.677.1841 or via email at marcius@unitedwayabilene.org.
Funding for our programs is made possible through the generosity of donors who contribute through workplace campaigns and individual donations. If you’re interested in making a gift, organizing a workplace campaign, or joining one of our giving societies, please contact Katie Deal at 325.677.1841 or katie@unitedwayabilene.org.

EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM FUNDING

The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), established in 1983, aims to support local social service agencies in addressing economic emergencies (non-disaster related). EFSP funds are available to organizations that provide feeding, sheltering, and rent/mortgage and utility assistance.

The EFSP is overseen by a National Board with representatives from various organizations, including the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army, and chaired by a representative from FEMA. For technical assistance, LROs (recipients of EFSP dollars) can call 703-706-9660 or login to EFSP.
